The Mission


The mission of CORE is to partner with educators and community businesses to provide those young adults with disabilities necessary training in a real-world environment and to foster the fundamental social skills needed to achieve independence.

The mission of CORE is to partner with educators and community businesses to provide those young adults with disabilities necessary training in a real-world environment and to foster the fundamental social skills needed to achieve independence.

CORE is a creative non profit organization

CORE is a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Service Provider for the State of Indiana

The CORE Vocational Training Program for Young Adults with Disabilities provides quality instruction and meaningful work experiences to individuals 17-25 years of age. In order to provide each trainee with a real-world job experience, training is completed on-site at various locations to learn job skills that are specific to that work environment. Training is provided in areas including, but not limited to, retail operations, merchandising, pricing, cash register operations, cash handling, customer service, housekeeping, inventory management, manufacturing, electrical, and plumbing.

Using structured assessments and evaluations, our trainers provide soft skills and job skills training that is individualized and personal.

CORE BELIEVES IN THE ABILITIES OF THOSE WITH DISABILITIES

  • Physical and Emotional Disabilities

  • Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • Speech Impaired, Blind, Visually Impaired, Deaf, and Hard of Hearing

  • Neurological and Non-Ambulatory Disabilities and Traumatic Brain Injuries

The CORE Store sells donated supplies to everyone in the community.

Proceeds from all sales directly support the CORE Vocational Training Program for Young Adults with Disabilities. Products can be purchased by anyone in the community looking for a way to support others while shopping for items at a discounted price. Products are available at CORE The Resource Store at 841 Northcrest Shopping Center and also at the COREner inside Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore at 4747 Lima Rd. Both sites are in Ft. Wayne, IN.
