Lori Heiges and Julie Williams, co-executive directors of CORE, inc.

We are Lori Heiges and Julie Williams, high school teachers in Indiana and the co-executive directors of CORE, inc. We created CORE from a vision, passionate about educating others. Throughout our years of teaching, we saw a great need to redirect surplus materials from local businesses and put them into the hands of those educating others. This could be teachers, artists, parents, students, community leaders, and more.  We also saw a great need to provide vocational training and job placement opportunities to young adults with disabilities.

Our vision led to creating a unique non profit that sells donated supplies to the community to support a vocational training program like no other. CORE is a creative organization that collaborates with businesses and community members to expand the vocational training opportunities into local areas to enhance the employment opportunities of Indiana young adults with disabilities.

This partnership is the CORE principle of our organization.

What We Believe:

* Surplus items from businesses and the community are plentiful and in great demand.

* Young adults with disabilities need opportunities for vocational training.

* Local businesses see value in employees with disabilities.

OUR Staff

CORE is comprised of dedicated managers, clerks, trainers, and trainees who work to serve our community and provide our customers with a unique shopping experience.  Our trainees come to us from various locations throughout northeast Indiana to gain vocational training in a variety of environments.  Once these young adults with disabilities enter our vocational training program, they are assisted by trainers who help them learn the soft skills and job skills they will need to gain meaningful employment. Upon completion of the program, our staff works to place these skilled young men and women in jobs with local businesses.
